MEET OUR 360U TEAM

The instructors on our 360U Team embody everything we teach our athletes to strive to be. Not only do we all share the same views on the softball x's & o's, but we share the fundamental belief that our athletes' success on the diamond is a direct result of being balanced, well-rounded & CONFIDENT young women who are accountable to themselves and everyone around them. Our experiences playing at the highest level of collegiate fastpitch softball, paired with our passion and commitment to the young women we serve provides an elite, high-quality, and athlete-focused approach to our instruction.​

MARIA STAVE (VAN ABEL)
​

Maria graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a degree in Business Management. Maria was a 4-year starting center fielder for the Wisconsin Badger’s Softball team and contributed to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances and the program’s first ever Big 10 Tournament Championship.  The left-handed slap hitter ranks second in the Wisconsin program’s record books in career batting average, stolen bases, and total hits. Her senior year as team captain, she earned All-Big Ten Defensive honors along with earning NFCA Division I All-America Scholar-Athlete honors and Academic All-Big Ten honors 3 consecutive years .
           
​Maria began administering private hitting instruction in the Fox Cities her senior year of high school and continued instructing and mentoring hundreds of student-athletes throughout her instructing career.  She coached several camps in her years at UW-Madison, specializing in slap hitting, base running, and outfielding technique.

​LAURA BEYER (VAN ABEL)

Laura Beyer enters her third season as a volunteer coach at UW-Oshkosh. Prior to her time here, Laura coached at UW-Green Bay and St. Norbert College. Beyer attended the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point where she was a 4 year starting shortstop. The left-handed slap hitter holds numerous career records with the Pointers including batting average, triples, and homeruns. Laura was voted to represent UWSP athletics at the NCAA National Leadership Conference. She was also selected to play on the Midwest All-Star Team in an exhibition game against the USA Olympic Softball team during their ‘Bound 4 Beijing’ tour before the 2008 Olympics.
           
​Along with years of collegiate coaching, Laura has been administering softball instruction for the last 10 years focusing on hitting, slap hitting, and defensive techniques.

​SCOTT BEYER

Scott is entering his sixth season as the head softball coach for the UW-Oshkosh Titans. Under Beyer, the Titans own a 79-36 overall record. Beyer has coached numerous players to all region honors. Under Beyer's coaching, the team has set new school records in batting average, doubles, home runs, stolen bases, slugging percentage and fielding percentage. Beyer came to UW-Oshkosh from UW-Green Bay, where he served as an assistant coach for the NCAA Division I Phoenix since 2011.

​Beyer has over ten years of experience in administering private, semi-private, and group lessons along with coaching several baseball and softball teams. Beyer has assisted in the development of over 100 high school student athletes into NCAA and NAIA collegiate players. Beyer specializes in hitting technique and defensive fundamentals.

ABBY MENTING

Abby Menting recently completed a four year career as a starting catcher at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, graduating May 2019.  A two year team captain, Menting garnished several awards during her tenure with the Titans including WIAC Player of the Year. Menting concluded her standout career topping the charts in several of her school's records including walks, doubles, and home runs.  Outside of Coach Laura, Coach Maria, and Coach Scott, Menting was 360U's first employee, providing instruction with the company since its conception.

Off the field Menting was a stellar student compiling a 3.99 cumulative GPA student, and was hired full-time prior to graduation as a supply chain analyst. Menting has volunteered with the St. Joseph's Food Pantry, Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Center and the Oshkosh Area Community Food Pantry.​

Abby continues to feed her passion of the game by coaching and developing athletes. Abby's caring, compassionate approach to teaching makes her truly special.

"When I was growing up and learning the game of softball, our motto was always “Work Hard, Get Better, Have Fun.” This truly has been my motto all throughout my softball career. I always enjoyed the journey of working hard to get better and always remembering to have fun along the way."

MARISSA MICHALKIEWICZ 
​

Marissa graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay where she was a 2 year team captain for the Green Bay Phoenix Women's Softball Team. Her freshman season, Marissa was the only player to appear in all 40 games and lead the team with a batting average of .398 earning her a spot on the Horizon League All-Newcomers Team. Over the course of her career, Marissa started every game and earned 1st and 2nd Team All Conference Honors as well as being named to the Division I Horizon League Player of the Week. On top of the numerous athletic accolades, Marissa was named an NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete in both 2013 and 2014. 

Marissa graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3.966 and earned her degree in Business Administration, Finance and Management with a double minor in Environmental Science and Environmental Policy and Planning. With that, Marissa has founded her own business where she works as a Sustainable Community Enhancement Consultant to introducing energy-efficient housing options to college students and young professionals. She was a member of UWGB's National Honor Society - Phi Eta Sigma, and was the recipient of the Chancellor's Medallion in May of 2016.

We are thrilled to have Marissa join our Team of Instructors at 360U Softball. Her love for softball and passion to empower young women make her the perfect fit at 360U. What's even more impressive than Marissa's wealth of softball knowledge and success at the Division I level is her ability to relate to our young athletes and truly understand how to approach each athlete individually.

KAITLYN KROL

Kaitlyn Krol comes to 360U from Chicago, IL after finishing her career competing for the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh for 4 years and leading her team to 2 NCAA Tournament appearances. Krol was a team captain and earned All-WIAC First Team All Conference honors her senior season while racking up a .348 season batting average and a nearly perfect .980 fielding percentage. Krol was named All-WIAC Honorable Mention in 2017, as well as earning All-Regional Accolades in that same season.  Academically, Kaitlyn was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll and graduated with a Human Services Degree while continuing her passion for coaching through her Assistant Softball Coach position at her Alma Mater - UW Oshkosh.

Kaitlyn brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and love for the game to our 360U Team. We couldn't be more excited for Kaitlyn to share her experiences with the young women at 360U - including the wisdom she has gained from her years playing, and now coaching travel ball in Chicago, to competing 4 years at the highest DIII level in the country.  Kaitlyn's passion for teaching the mental side of softball makes her an invaluable asset to our 360U Team and athletes. Her enthusiasm for the sport and her ability to truly listen, understand and personalize the experience for each athlete that walks through our doors at The U is what makes Kaitlyn's instruction so effective.

ALLIE ARNESON
​

An Aledo, Texas native and University of Minnesota Women's Softball standout, Allie Arneson joins our 360U Team of Instructors after graduating from the U of M in 2019! Allie competed for the Minnesota Gophers from 2016-2019 and led her team to a Women's Softball College World Series in 2019 as the team's starting shortstop. Arneson's clutch performance in the NCAA Regionals included a pair of go-ahead hits against LSU which advanced the Gophers to the program's first ever World Series appearance. The defensive specialist was honored with All-B1G Defensive Team accolades her senior season and was second on the Gophers team with 121 assist and 45 put outs, posting a career-high .960 fielding percentage through all 60 games, starting in 59 of those games. In Allie's first season with the Gophers, she earned 1st Team All-B1G accolades as well as being named B1G 10 Player of the Week. The Aledo, Texas native played for Team Mizuno Impulse and Aces Express Gold Travel Ball programs and led her high school team to back-to-back state championships in the state of Texas.

Allie's fresh perspective and recent experience competing for an impressive University of Minnesota Gopher Softball program makes her a valuable asset to our 360U Team. Allie specializes in defensive and hitting mechanics, and has been administering hitting instruction for 5+ years.  Allie's love for the mental side of softball is cultivated from her own, personal memories competing at the highest level of collegiate softball. Allie equates her ability to perform in high-pressure, clutch situations against the country's best pitching to her extensive mental training.  Allie has a passion for not only the sport of softball, but to emphasize the importance of confidence and a strong mental approach to all the athlete's she works with through her instruction.

​HAILEY MCDERMOTT

Hailey graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with degrees in Design Arts and Business Marketing. She posted high academic marks while at UWGB making the dean’s list 9 semesters and graduating summa cum laude while also receiving the Chancellor's Medallion for her service to the university through her work with the UW-Green Bay Athletics Department. Hailey even spent 2 years playing under Coach Scott and Coach Laura! She was a member of the 2014 Phoenix team that won the Horizon League Regular Season and Tournament Championships making the program’s second NCAA Regional Tournament appearance. Hailey's weekly pitching coach was nationally acclaimed pitching and now head coach at Buffalo, Mike Roberts.

Hailey has found love in the game again by giving lessons to young athletes. Hailey brings high energy and a positive attitude to her lessons and provides athletes with a unique perspective given her vast background of former coaches and techniques. Hailey is detail oriented and analytical by nature so her coaching style puts an emphasis on drills and the fundamental pitching motion while also stressing the importance of a strong mental game, spotting-up, spinning the ball, and having fun!
